The Shelf is one of the most unique songs on Pull Me In. It was written by Taylor in 2013 and rearranged by Dave in 2015 during final production on Pull Me In. The music video for The Shelf was shot outdoors in one continuous session beginning at 10:30 pm and finishing at 5:30 am. It had to be done that way to preserve the black void in the background by avoiding any light in the night sky.
